Registration is now closed.
But! Come on down and get into some classes and workshops that still have spaces available.
Come and shop for some cool gardening items. See a lighting talk.
Check out what you can see on Saturday:
The Master Gardeners Association of San Diego County invites the public to its 40th Anniversary Fall Festival, a day-long event held at the County Operations Center at 5500 Overland Ave in Kearny Mesa on October 14th, sharing the many ways we have helped the San Diego community over the last 40 years.
Come spend a day with the Master Gardeners, get all your gardening questions answered, pick up some great gifts for yourself or friends, learn something new, and if you are one of the first lucky 50 attendees who brought their pruner with them it will be sharpened for free!
- Pruners or loppers must have no longer than an 2 inch blade and be in good working condition. No serrated blades (pruning saws) or long blades (hedge shears).
- 'Good working condition' means that the tool is operational (open and closes, can cut a twig), has minimal rust and grime, and no chips or divots on the blade.
Admission to the Fall 40th courtyard is free; classes and workshops require a fee and registration. Garden items and food will be available for purchase. All proceeds benefit the Master Gardener Association of San Diego County.
The Fall 40th Courtyard will be filled with a dozen free information booths and garden-related items for sale such as:
- Garden art
- Succulent arrangements
- Birdhouses
- Potted plant sale
- Succulent pumpkins
- Green Elephant: someone else’s gently used item may be your treasure
Master Gardeners will be giving free lightning talks throughout the day in the Courtyard, on topics as varied as:
- Native bees
- Activities for kids in the garden
- Smart home irrigation controllers
- Global culinary gardening
